It may not look like it, but some believe that the Mercedes-Benz S 63 AMG Coupe and the Porsche Panamera Turbo S are competitors.

While the Porsche has two (some would say three) extra doors, it is on par with the Mercedes on almost all other aspects.

The Panamera Turbo S is powered by a 562hp (570PS) 4.8-liter turbo V8, while the S 63 AMG Coupe is motivated by a 577hp (585PS) 5.5-liter twin-turbo V8. The Porsche weighs just under 2 tonnes, the Mercedes weighs just over 2 tonnes.

However, while the Panamera Turbo S is only offered with four-wheel drive, the S 63 AMG Coupe is optionally available with four-wheel drive.

Prices are similar, though, so which one is the better car? That’s exactly what Auto Express magazine tries to find out in the video review posted below. Just keep in mind that the S 63 AMG Coupe featured in the video was a rear-wheel drive model, as in the UK, the 4Matic all-wheel drive system is not available.
