Besides looking like a mini S-Class, the new Mercedes-Benz C-Class’ another important asset is the overall length, which has increased by almost 4 inches (101.6 mm) compared to the previous generation model.

Rear seat passengers benefit the most from this increase, as legroom is significantly improved in the new model. But there’s more to like about the new C-Class’ interior, as Consumer Reports’ Tom Mutchler found out. He describes the cabin as “simply stunning,” thanks to very high quality materials.

The C-Class was found great to drive as well, thanks to its accurate steering and balanced chassis. CR tested a C300 4Matic model powered by a 241hp 2.0-liter four-cylinder turbocharged engine. Sure, there are more powerful engines available, but those cost significantly more than the tested model. Not that the C300 4Matic is cheap – the tested model carried a $47,560 price.
