Honda has released the first photos of the facelifted CR-V for Europe in production trim, following the CR-V prototype showcased at the Paris Auto Show in October.
As expected, there are no noticeable exterior design differences between the CR-V Prototype and the production model, which is also very similar to the US-spec 2015 Honda CR-V. Inside, the Euro-spec CR-V gets a reshaped chrome-effect inlay running the width of the dashboard, as well as a sliding armrest between the front seats.
The main highlight for Europe is the addition of a new 1.6-liter i-DTEC diesel engine from Honda’s Earth Dreams Technology series, which produces 160PS (158hp) and 350Nm (258lb-ft) of torque.
Available for 4WD models, the engine is offered with two transmissions: either a six-speed manual, which emits under 130g/km of CO2 emissions, or a new 9-speed automatic transmission. When fitted with the latter unit the CR-V emits less than 135 g/km of CO2, which is 20 percent less compared with the previous five-speed automatic transmission.
Two-wheel drive models get a less powerful diesel engine, a 120PS (118hp) 1.6-liter i-DTEC unit with manual transmission which has CO2 emissions as low as 115 g/km. Honda continues to offer the 155PS (153hp) 2.0-liter i-VTEC petrol unit, which is now Euro6 compliant, in both 2WD and 4WD versions.
The facelifted CR-V also gets the new Honda Connect, an app-driven infotainment system that is fitted as standard across the range. The system features a 7-inch touch screen display which gives front-seat occupants access to everything from vehicle information, rear-view parking camera and music, to Bluetooth connectivity for their phones as well as being enabled for MirrorLink technology.
