Just three weeks after the 2014 World Rally Championship finale in the Wales Rally, Hyundai Motorsport is already testing its i20 racer in preparation for its second season in the WRC.
Thierry Neuville, who won the Rally Deutschland last year, and Dani Sordo are the team’s appointed drivers for 2015 and they have already tested the new, substantially revamped version of last year’s car.
“We’ve spent a productive two days in the car this week, keeping us busy as we prepare for next season”, said Neuville. “It’s important to start as early as we can for the first rallies of 2015. We will now continue with our winter program so we can head into Christmans and New Year in the best shape.”
The four-day tests were conducted in Monte Carlo, and more specifically in Ardeche, as Hyundai is preparing for the season opener that kicks off on January 25. Now the team will move to Sweden in mid-December in order to test for the second round of the 2015 championship before returning to Monte Carlo for the final pre-race tests.
