Everyone is waiting to see how the Mercedes AMG GT stacks up against the segment’s benchmark, the Porsche 911 Turbo.
The folks from Holland’s GTO Magazine were among the first to drive the new AMG GT and they were impressed by Mercedes-AMG’s new sports car. They drove the range-topping AMG GT S, on which the all-new 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine produces 510PS (503hp).
The engine is described as having a very direct response, making the AMG GT S a very quick car – 0-100 km/h in 3.8 seconds and a top speed of 311 km/h (193 mph). It also emits an impressive sound for a turbocharged unit. The AMG GT is described as a focused sports car, but one that can also be a pretty comfortable cruiser, provided that the road surface is good.
