The 2015 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat and 2015 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 cost around the same but what you’re getting in return is very different. Both are valid propositions, they just address different audiences.

The Hellcat has obscene power, but with its larger size and weight, it is slightly penalized against the ZL1. The latter, while by no means a track car, is more focused and probably more rewarding for the precise driver with corners in mind.

According to MT, the Challenger is a fine handling machine too, especially given its bulk, but it can’t match the Camaro for lateral grip or braking.

It really depends on what you want – the Dodge is louder, smokier and feels more special, whereas the Chevy is less of a blunt instrument. I don’t think choosing between the two is as easy as reviewer Jonny Lieberman says it is, although 707 hp could be the clincher.
