There’s just something unique about the way Project Cars looks. It’s not the graphics quality (which is very good) but probably more to do with the postprocessing and physics engine – the cars just seem to have a really natural-looking movement about them as you’ll notice if you pay close attention to this latest trailer.
This unique look is emphasized in the latest trailer for the game whose publisher is Namco Bandai; it’s developed by Slightly Mad Studios, the multi award-winning studio behind titles such as the Need for Speed: Shift games or the (not so successful) online game World of Speed.
Project Cars is arguably the studio’s biggest project to date, and it’s also the most ambitious. It does borrow a bit from Need for Speed: Shift, but then Shift itself borrowed from Gran Turismo and Forza, so it’s kind-of okay…
We’re excited about Project Cars because it really does promise the first ever Forza-like experience for avid PC games. Hopefully, they find some ways of making it original and not seeming like a copy, but even if it lacks its own character, its graphics and physics will more than make up for that. It’s supposed to ship towards the end of March for PC and next-gen consoles.
