The Lamborghini Countach is one of those cars that aged extremely well, as it usually happens with designs that were way ahead of their time when they launched. Produced from 1974 to 1990, it’s by far the Lamborghini that spent most years in production and that says a lot about its popularity.
Harry Metcalfe has owned a 1987 Countach 5000 Quattrovalvole since 2000, and has covered 18,000 kilometers (11,185 miles) in it. Naturally, he has many things to say about the car, including driving impressions, and the video he released through his “Harry’s Garage” channel contains all that, plus a detailed history of the Countach.
The car he owns is in a very good shape, with everything original on it, including the 5.2-liter V12 with carburetors that produces 455hp at 7,000 rpm. It’s still a fast car by today standards, capable of reaching a top speed of 279 km/h (173 mph). But it’s not nearly as docile to drive as today’s Lamborghini’s, as you can find out from Harry’s 30-minute video posted below.
