Hyundai is embracing smartwatches with the announcement of their BlueLink smartwatch app ahead of its debut Monday at the 2015 Consumer Electronics Show.

Owners of Hyundais with their BlueLink telematics system will now be able to benefit from some car control features with their smartwatch paired to their phone. These features include a remote engine start or stop, door lock and unlock, the ability to flash the lights or honk the horn from your smartwatch, as well as car finder services, roadside assistance and other BlueLink services.

The app will be free for Android devices beginning in the first quarter of 2015.

The automaker says the new app works with all existing BlueLink-equipped Hyundai models, which date back to the 2012 Sonata. Hyundai says the newest generation of the system will debut on the 2016 Elantra GT and 2015 Veloster models, which will also include maintenance alerts and the Hyundai Assurance Car Care app, as well as Google-powered destination search.
