Lotus hasn’t exactly been on the front page of many news outlets lately and you would think that it was because of a drop in popularity. However it seems like they’re not doing too bad at all.
Over the past 9 months, Lotus Cars have seen a 54% rise in sales, or 551 cars over the previous year – giving them a total of 1.565 cars sold. Which doesn’t sound like a lot, but for this British sports car maker, it’s something they can build on.
In the EU, the sales have increased by a massive 81%, where the UK saw 88%, France had a 143% rise in Lotus orders, while Germany saw a 139% bump. The US had a 29% increase in orders while Asia and the Middle East had a 24% increase. Lotus dealerships have also grown in number to 163 total – with 50 more to come by the end of 2015.
Perhaps the most exciting news is their mystery reveal in Geneva this March. It is said that the product will stay true to the Lotus philosophy, meaning it will be light on its feet and quick in the corners.
Dare we say, we hope it’s more of an every-day sports car, although it will surely be based on one of its existing models like the Elise, Exige or Evora.
