Porsche USA Wants More Macans, and They Want Them Now

Porsche is in the works of increasing the supply of its Macan crossover to US dealers in 2015.

According to a report from Automotive News, right now, customers have to wait six months or more for delivery of their Macan and Porsche is keen to reduce this time in order to keep customer satisfaction and demand at the highest possible level.

The problem lies in the limited capacity of the factory combined with the strong worldwide demand but Porsche executives of North America have made clear that the problem is currently addressed. A diesel version of the Macan is also expected to debut near the end of the year.

Porsche delivered 7,241 Macans during the seven months it was on sale last year with the German firm expected to meet its goal of selling 50,000 cars in the U.S. three years earlier than the 2018 deadline originally set by the automaker. The target now is to sell more than 50,000 units this year.

If the Macan supply problem is soon to be solved, we’re not going to be surprised if they sell even more Porsches than that.
