Skoda is launching the new Fabia Combi in Europe this month and wants to keep the model in the news with the release of a big photo gallery.
The photos were shot in Nice, France, where Skoda organized the press drive event of the new Fabia Combi, which will be available in the first European markets from as early as mid-January.
As a quick reminder, the third generation Fabia Combi offers the biggest boot volume in its segment, at 530 liters (18.7 cu-ft). That’s 25 liters more than its predecessor and 200 liters more than the current Fabia hatchback. With the rear seats folded down, cargo volume increases to 1,395 liters (49.2 cu-ft).
The cabin is 21mm wider and 8mm longer that the model it replaces, with more headroom offered for the driver and front seat passenger despite the fact that the new Combi is slightly lower than its predecessor. Overall, the new generation model is 10mm longer, 90mm wider and 31mm lower.
Although it’s slightly bigger and features added comfort and technology features over the car it replaces, including a standard electronic differential lock function XDS+, and available front and rear parking sensors and Rain-Light Assistant, the Combi is up to 55 kg (121 lbs) lighter, depending on vehicle configuration.
The model is offered with four petrol engines ranging in power from 75PS to 110PS (74hp to 108hp) and three diesels offering between 75PS to 105PS (74hp to 104hp). All engines are linked to either manual or dual-clutch DSG transmissions.
Fuel consumption has been reduced by up to 17 percent compared to the second-generation model, with the most frugal version in the series being the Fabia Combi Greenline, which returns 3.1 l/100km (75.9mpg US or 92.1mpg UK) with C02 emissions of 82g/km.
