While it is true that Ferrari quite often tests new models or new parts in its own private track, Fiorano, the last one caught on camera by Marchettino was quite strange.
It’s a black FF mule with some extra-long exhaust pipes sticking out of the back and it’s been driven really, really hard by one of the company’s test drivers.
At this point we have no idea what that is all about, other than it was definitely not a turbocharged engine under that hood, or the whooshes would have been heard loud and clear at that pace.
Could it be that Ferrari is preparing an update for its four-seat, all-wheel drive model? That’s one explanation, given that the FF is currently the oldest model in its range, dating back to 2011, so a mid-life revamp wouldn’t seem out of place.
It is also possible that it is testing a performance and handling package for the 660PS (651hp) shooting brake like it has done in the past; an HGTE FF of shorts that will be added to the options list.
Like we said, we have no solid info whatsoever. This is pure speculation, so feel free to add yours in the comments section right below the video that follows.
