Acura has released full specs and pricing details of the facelifted 2016 ILX sedan, which is on sale with a $27,900 starting price (excluding $920 destination).
The 2016 Acura ILX features a new standard engine, a 2.4-liter i-VTEC four-cylinder unit producing 201hp at 6,800 rpm and 180lb-ft (244Nm) of torque at 3,600 rpm – up 51hp and 40lb-ft compared to the outgoing 2.0-liter engine.
The new unit is mated to a new 8-speed dual clutch transmission (8DCT) with torque converter and paddle-controlled Sequential Sport Shift.
Acura says the new 8DCT delivers “incredibly quick, crisp and intuitive gear changes, including rev-matching down shifts,” while also helping reduce fuel consumption. The 2016 Acura ILX is EPA-rated at 25/36/29 mpg city/highway/combined – the equivalent of 9.4/6.5/8.1 l/100 km. Besides the new powertrain, the 2016 ILX also features a retuned suspension and chassis design enhancements which are said to improve steering responsiveness and linearity.
The sports sedan is offered with three main grades – the standard ILX, the ILX with Premium Package, and the range-topping ILX Tech Plus Package. Additionally, the automaker offers the all-new AcuraWatch Plus and A-SPEC Packages.
Standard and available features include heated front seats, Bluetooth HandsFreeLink, Smart Entry/Push-Button Start keyless access system, one-touch turn signals, GPS-linked automatic climate control and LED accent lighting. A 7-inch On Demand Multi-Use Display (ODMD) touch screen is standard on Premium and Tech Plus grades.
The ILX Tech Plus also features the next generation of AcuraLink, Acura’s cloud-based connected-car system, while Tech Plus grades can be equipped with the Acura Navigation System with 3D view, featuring and AcuraLink Real-Time Traffic with Traffic Rerouting.
