The first Nissan GT-R Nismo delivered in the UK, one of only 24 units allotted to the market, was handed over to its owner by Nismo racing driver Jann Mardenborough.
The latter wasn’t there just to appear in photos, he also offered a one-to-one track tutorial to the car’s owner, Nick Coombes of Plymouth. Upon taking delivery of the 600PS Nissan GT-R Nismo from dealer and Nismo specialist, JFE Nissan in Exeter, Coombes headed to the Thruxton racing circuit in Hampshire.
There, GT Academy graduate Mardenborough, who will race Nissan’s GT-R LM Nismo at this year’s Le Mans 24 Hours, gave Coombes a product walkthrough before hitting the track to show him just what the GT-R Nismo can do.
“Once you’ve owned a GT-R nothing else will do. This is my third GT-R and as soon as I knew the GT-R Nismo was being made I knew I had to have one. Being the first customer in the UK to take delivery just makes the thrill of owning this incredible car even more special,” said Mr. Coombes, a retired haulage company owner.
“Having a young man with as much talent and as bright a future as Jann show me what the car can really do has been awesome. This is a day I’ll never forget,” he added.
All 24 examples of the Nissan GT-R that will be delivered to the UK have already been sold, despite the steep £125,000 starting price.
