A reported thirty Model X prototype vehicles have already been built by Tesla, and some are undoubtedly out testing on public roads. One example was spotted by a TeslaMotorsClub forum user in California.
It features very light camo and you can easily make out pretty much all of the details – the shape of the front and rear light clusters is very obvious, for instance; it seems as if they weren’t really trying to hide anything.
Looking at the car on the road, sitting next to regular cars, it does look a fair bit taller than the Model S, although it’s not really high enough to be considered an SUV. It’s really more of a BMW 5-Series GT style of vehicle from the looks of it.
The tester that was caught in public is, however, painted black, and this makes it slightly harder to make out all of its shapes. Check it out below!
