Inspired by its new GT S sports car, Mercedes-AMG has joined forces with Cigarette Racing to create the 50 Marauder GT S Concept racing boat.
It was presented today at the Miami International Boot Boat Show that’s open to the public 12 to 16 February 2015 at the Miami Beach Convention Center.
Whereas the road-going GT S draws its power from a 510PS (503hp) twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8 engine, the Cigarette Racing 50 Marauder GT S Concept gets two Mercury racing engines that allow it to reach speeds of more than 217km/h (135mph), which is both impressive and scary – remember folks, were talking about skimming through water here…
The power boat measures 50 feet long (about 15 meters) and eight feet wide (about 2.40 meters) and is made with lightweight materials, which Mercedes says, resulted in weight savings of about 450 kilograms (just under 1,000 pounds) over the standard homologation weight.
The hull is finished in a menacing matte black hue with Solarbeam highlights, with the same colors used inside where the user interface includes Bluetooth communication, computer-based control, four high-resolution displays, Garmin and Cigarette navigation, and an audio system.
While badged a concept, Mercedes said that the AMG power boat is priced at $1.2 million or about €1 million. Previously, Mercedes created a power boat version inspired by the SLS AMG.
