As cute and cuddly as the 500 may be, eight years in the market is a long time, but Fiat appears to want to give the current car a small extension in life before a new replacement arrives.
Caught testing in Sweden, this 500 prototype had both of its front bumpers covered in cladding, but other than that, it looks exactly like the current model.
Then again, the 500’s strong point has always been its retro looks, so don’t expect any revolutionary changes on the outside, just a touch up on the bumpers and front grille, along with modern LED lighting fixtures.
Even though we didn’t have the opportunity to check the tester’s interior, Fiat does have more creative freedom inside, so we could see some changes to the design and a new infotainment system with a large screen on the center console.
On the engine front and besides some light tweaks to improve efficiency and CO2 emissions, the 500 facelift will probably continue offering the same range of diesel and petrol engines.
