If you don’t need a full bench seat in the back with accommodations for three, Tesla will now sell you what it calls the “Executive Rear Seats,” which will set you back $2,000. However, they’re only available on models higher up in the range. They were revealed at the Detroit show last month.
First, before you can opt for the special seating arrangement, you need to pay an additional $3,500 for the Premium Interior Package. Checking the Model S configuration app (called “Design Studio”) on the official site, it seems that you have to select even more options along with them…
Check out their site and see for yourself – this means the more cosseting rear seating for two won’t be that popular an option. They may change the availability conditions if it doesn’t sell, or perhaps they want it to be an exclusive option that’s only fitted to very few cars, but we doubt that’s the case.
