Tesla is rapidly electrifying the UK by plopping down its Supercharger stations in a fashion that is beginning to resemble a network. The automaker has just announced that it already has 20 units up and running spanning “routes from Exeter to Edinburgh.”
Plans are to cover the whole of the UK by the end of 2015 so that a Tesla will always be within range of a free charging station while on the Isles. Owners will even be able to make journeys into Europe with their car, although they will have to stop a few times along the way – once more of the network is up it won’t be nearly as daunting as before.
Europe currently has a total of 129 Supercharger stations spanning from northern Norway all the way to the south, in Slovenia, with plans to extend into Spain and the central part of the continent – they have a map which features all the latest additions, as well as where they’re going next.
