After being revealed last month, the 207 HP Opel/Vauxhall Corsa OPC made its Geneva Motor Show debut today, enchanting us with a fresh batch of images that make our minds wander.
The new and top of the range Opel Corsa OPC makes its world premiere wearing “flash blue”, which makes it instantly recognizable as a member of the Opel Performance Center. We were expecting nothing less from them when it came to the show car.
Inside it features Recaro performance seats, leather steering wheel, flattened at the bottom, and sports pedals, while outside it packs large air intakes, a distinctive hood, bold sill side trims, a rear spoiler and a twin-pipe exhaust showing you it means business.
Under it’s hood you’ve got 207 HP waiting to play with you. The 1.6 liter OPC unit also gives a maximum torque of 245 Nm, plus an additional 35 Nm available with the overboost functionality. Power is sent to the front wheels via a 6-speed manual transmission with short and sharp shifting travels.
On paper, you should be able to take the Corsa OPC from 0 to 62 mph (100km/h) in an impressive 6.8 seconds, and then all the way to 230km/h.
Opel engineers teamed up with the Koni in oder to develop a chassis that can boast innovative damping. The new Frequency Selective Damping (FSD) technology enables damping forces to adapt to the frequency of the car, therefore balancing agility and comfort in the best way possible.
The ESP (Electronic Stability Program) can be switched off completely, which means this car can be quite the treat for the more experienced of drivers.
Out back, the soundtrack is provided by the twin-pipe Remus exhaust system, meaning you probably won’t want to stop driving it anytime soon.
The 2015 Corsa OPC will be arriving in dealerships this spring and can already be ordered for €24,395 (RRP including VAT) in Germany.
