There will soon be plenty of second-hand Jaguar XFs as some owners trade up for the new one. This review by CNET gives you an idea of what you should expect if you opt for a current-gen model.

Reviewer Brian Cooley doesn’t really have any particularly poignant critique points, but he does point out the dated-looking infotainment. It is snappy and comes fully featured, yet its graphics and layout leave much to be desired, plus the squarish screen looks a bit last decade when put up against what BMW is doing.

The variant tested was the 340 hp three-liter supercharged V6. It’s plenty-pokey, sprinting to sixty in 5.7 seconds, and its standard eight-speed auto box is smooth but not sloppy.

Its design still looks modern and fresh, even as it approaches the end of its life cycle. This would point to the fact that its design does have a timeless quality about it (simplicity and great proportions can result in that), so it should still look good/contemporary for a few more years.
