Things just might be looking up for the De Tomaso brand, as we learn that it’s allegedly fallen into Swiss investors’ hands. L3 Holdings reportedly won the bidding war with China’s Consolidated Ideal TeamVenture.
The winning bid for the company was €2 / ~$2.2 million. Now, according to Auto Motor und Sport, the plan is to hire 360 employees and being work on a new mid-engined sports car. The model si to be built at a new factory opened in Turn, Italy, and it will obviously hark back to the glory days of the Mangusta and Pantera.
The De Domaso name has come up in the news in recent years, despite having laid dormant for decades. The reborn company even showed a quirky crossover concept, called the Deauville (pictured), but it soon went under again after its reveal.
Hopefully, this time it will work out better; we’d love to see/know what they have planned.
