A group of bikers saved a dog’s life, and possibly, the lives of other road users, when they stopped traffic to catch a scared canine that had previously jumped out of a car on a highway. The incident appears to have happened in Brazil.
That’s one way to look at it as their actions were ultimately vindicated by the results here being that the dog was saved and no one was hurt, but there’s a looming question if their decision to stop in the middle of the highway was the right one to take, as this incident could have ended in a different way.
Many of you may remember the story of a 25-year old Canadian woman who stopped her car on the left-hand side of the highway to help a group of ducklings cross the road causing the death of a 50-year old father and his 16-year old daughter when their motorcycle slammed into the rear-end of her car.
Unfortunately, there’s not a clear cut answer to this question, as it’s equally dangerous to leave a dog running amok around a highway and suddenly stopping traffic on a road with a 90km/h (56mph) speed limit. What do you think?
