We wonder what sort of vehicle BMW’s i division is cooking up for the year 2020. The fact that a third i model will be added to the range has reportedly been confirmed by BMW’s research and development boss, Klaus Froehlich.
Speaking to Autonews Europe, he said they “are still in the strategic research phase where we brainstorm. Teams that start with a white sheet of paper. They talk with customers, hold workshops, then present their ideas and we decide.”
Whatever the vehicle will turn out to be, it’ll definitely be powered by more advanced batteries. BMW says these will have “a minimum 20 percent battery density improvement every three years.”
In the meantime, BMW will keep improving the two i vehicles it already sells, and we presume they too will feature an LCI (facelift) at some point which will also improve some of the technical aspects as well as update the styling, gadgets and interiors.
