The Morgan Aero 8 has received significant updates for the Geneva Motor Show, but you won’t find any by looking at the photos.
While the front fascia, bonnet and wings are pretty much unchanged, the car is completely new from the doors back. Morgan says the Aero 8 is more comfortable, practical, luxurious than ever before, and that it also offers better handling and more technology.
The car has gained an updated chassis with an all-new suspension system featuring a double wishbone independent setup on all four wheels. As a result, road holding and handling are said to be improved, particularly at low speeds.
Under the hood, the Aero 8 keeps the BMW 4.8-liter V8 but the unit now features uprated software that extracts a few extra horsepower and pounds-foot of torque.
The latest Aero 8 is also lighter than before, tipping the scale at just over 1,000kg (2,204lbs). Other updates include an available folding soft top that stows away behind the seats (a first in a Morgan), as well as the detachable hardtop.
Morgan will start production of the Aero 8 in October and expects to sell about 300 units over a two-year period.
