Nissan says the benefits of owning an electric vehicle are not limited to the zero emissions or the quiet and comfortable ride. According to the automaker, another big advantage of EVs is the power supply provided, thanks to the big batteries they’re equipped with.
To demonstrate that the potential of electric vehicles is “infinite,” Nissan has built the Ultimate Smart BBQ Vehicle, a curious concept vehicle based on the e-NV200 electric van and created for the Green Funding Lab project in Japan.
Apparently, Japanese people’s interest in barbecuing in quickly expanding, but they’re not that thrilled about starting a fire and cleaning up afterwards. This is where the Nissan Ultimate Smart BBQ Vehicle comes in. The EV provides the source of power for a barbecue with zero emissions, as it is fitted with a 1,500-watt electric grill.
But that’s not the only unusual feature of the Ultimate Smart BBQ Vehicle. The show car is also equipped with a Mosquito Barrier System, Refreshing Mist Shower and Flying Selfie Camera, among other things. What Nissan forgot to say, however, is how much energy the e-NV200’s battery pack is left with after all these accessories are used.
