The 2016 Mazda MX-5 Miata, the fourth iteration of the company’s iconic roadster, will start at $24,915 when it hits American dealerships later this year.
The outgoing 2015 base Sport model starts at $23,970, before destination charge. That’s about a $1,000 price increase, although we’ve yet to see detailed equipment changes comparing new and old cars. North American Miatas get a 2.0-liter, 155-horsepower four, rather than the 1.5-liter engine that’s standard elsewhere in the world.
Mazda also said today in a news release all Miatas would come with a six-speed manual, Bluetooth and power door locks. Sport remains the base, joining Club and Grand Touring trims.
Mazda has already confirmed it would show the 2016 MX-5 Club Edition at the show, and likely detail pricing and equipment levels for the new car.
