Fixed rear wing? Check; Bloated wheel arches? Check; Protruding front splitter? Check; Winglets on the front fascia and fenders (!)? Check; Massive tires and brake discs? Check.
What’s missing from this prototype that our scoop photographers just nabbed racing around the Nürburgring? Possibly a different rear bumper with a more aggressive diffuser, canards and different tail pipes.
If you’re asking us what we think it is, we’ll agree with our spies that said it’s likely the Black Series Edition of the AMG GT supercar. The only other possibility is a high-performance version planned to slot between the existing GT S and the Black Series, but we don’t think that model would feature such an aggressive aero package.
Beyond the improved aerodynamics, the AMG GT Black Series will undergo a diet to shed a few pounds and sport changes to the chassis with power to come from a tuned version of the 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine pushing out nearly 600-horses towards the rear wheels through a modified and faster transmission.
