Watching this video, there are so many things that come to mind. But most of all, just like McLaren says at the end, power IS a beautiful thing. And guess what – so is the 675LT.
We have to give McLaren huge props for being so creative, or better yet, artistic, with this spot. Everything they used is a nice touch, from the rain to the slow motion camera work, the music, as well as man’s best friend.
Hearing the engine rev up at the end is the highlight of the video by far, as they transition from the song to the engine noise. And speaking of its engine, the 675LT is good for 675 PS (666 HP) as well as 700 Nm (515 lb-ft) of torque.
This means that the Long Tail can detonate towards 62 mph (100km/h) in just 2.9 seconds and then go as high as 330 km/h (205 mph) if it so pleases the driver.
On paper, this thing already has the Ferrari 488 GTB beat, in both power to weight ratio as well as the 0-124 mph sprint time (by almost half a second). Though Ferrari might still have the upper hand in sheer driving pleasure – here’s hoping the reviews come soon!
As for the Lamborghini Huracan, well let’s just say that it needs to show up with a lot more horsepower than just 610. Though they’ll surely come up with a few new versions in the near future.
