Brazilian site FlatOut has just released a set of low-res photos of the new Renault Sandero RS, a RenaultSport model destined for markets where such models aren’t available. The shots reveal the car will have different front and rear bumpers, larger side sills, 16-inch wheels and smoked lights at the back too.

The above is clear even through the way Renault presented the idea of a Sandero RS, through the teaser video released a few days ago. They called it a “surprise for Latin America,” which means there’s no intention to sell it elsewhere and/or under the Dacia brand name; I doubt there will ever be a Dacia version of this.

That’s not a bad thing, as European markets where the Dacia name is used will most likely get the upcoming spiced up Twingo or if they want something bigger but still peppy, they can just go for the Clio GT; I drove one of those and it super nippy with that standard dual-clutch transmission and 1.2-liter turbo engine combo.

The Brazilian source suggest the Renault Sandero RS will feature a 2.0-liter atmospheric engine, and for South America that’s entirely plausible; had it been destined for Europe, they would have probably used a version of the turbo unit found in the aforementioned Clio GT hooked up to a manual-six.

Thanks to everyone who sent in a tip!
