Following two concept cars (the Friend-ME and Lannia), Nissan has finally decided on what its mid-size sedan for China should look like.
At next-week’s Shanghai Auto Show, the automaker will unveil the production version of the Lannia sedan, the company’s first product created specifically for the youth generation in China.
An evolution of the Friend-ME and Lannia concepts that debuted in China in 2013 and 2014, the Lannia is “inspired by the rising young Chinese generation, who are seen as energetic trendsetters with new values and aspirations.”
While the teaser photos and videos released by Nissan are not very revealing, the automaker says the sedan features a muscular and dynamic exterior design, with a character line that flows from the front through the door section to the rear.
The Nissan Lannia also features the V-motion grille and boomerang-shaped headlight signature, which are cues taken from the latest Nissan design language. Overall, the production model appears to remain largely faithful to the lines of last year’s Lannia Concept. We’ll learn more as we get closer to the car’s world debut in Shanghai on April 20.
