First they forget about Dre, now they forget about this? Chrysler’s 300S is still as good looking as ever and it’s about time we remembered that.
The design of the Chrysler 300 is timeless. Or better yet, is timeless..still. Still timeless. OK, enough Dre references! But let’s remember how the first generation turned the automotive world upside down because of its amazing looks, back in 2004.
Now you can buy the 2nd generation model, starting at $31,395 which gets you a 292 HP V6, coupled with an 8-speed automatic transmission and rear wheel drive. However it’s an extra $3,500 if you want the 300 HP 300S version.
As cars in this segment are coming up with more futuristic designs and better quality interiors, the good old 300 is still going about its business in a steady and imposing manner. Compared to its looks, some models from rival manufacturers really appear to be trying too hard.
On the downside, the interior indeed isn’t as up to date with 2015 standards as it should be and the handling or let’s say agility of the car is somewhat of a joke. Luckily that’s not what Chrysler was going for, so the 300 was never really judged by those standards.
Plus, the recent facelift did bring with it full speed-range Adaptive Cruise Control, Forward Collision Warning, Lane Departure Warning, ParkView, Uconnect systems and a few other must-have goodies in today’s world.
Even though sales have been going down year after year ever since this second generation was launched, we have to remember that the 300-series is a long life-span type of model. So there isn’t anything Chrysler will do about it until around 2017 when the 3rd generation is supposed to come along.
