Car Mechanic Simulator 2014 was not a fast paced game, or one that would present interest to anybody other than passionate people, enthusiasts or those looking to learn the very basics of what it takes to repair cars.

Now the game has evolved for 2015, and immediately you notice it looks much better. These types of games do run the risk of ending up looking like it’s 2002 (see Automation), because the developers don’t have the skill, experience and/or resources to make them contemporary-looking, usually concentrating on code and functionality over eye candy.

Car Mechanic Simulator 2015 is a straightforward game, especially if you played its predecessor. You have cars that need various parts examined/swapped out, and it’s your task to unbolt the faulty ones, buy replacements and put them back together.

The developer explains the changes briefly, saying there are “new cars, new tools, new options, more parts and much more fun” in this latest version.

It released on April 24 and you can download your copy from Steam for €19,99. The game also has built-in mod support and several DLCs are planned for the near future too – the first one drops May 1st and it’s called “Youngtimer DLC.”

Before you part with your cash, do check out what the game is like via the videos posted after the virtual jump; there’s also the official release gallery of photos to browse through, as well.
