Motor Trend brings us another showdown of the Hypercar establishment, this time placed in Laguna Seca circuit, along with timing equipment, pro racing driver Randy Pobst and no excuses at all.
Ferrari opted out as you might have guessed, for reasons they and they alone know for sure, and denied us once again the possibility of witnessing the LaFerrari confronting its biggest enemies. It doesn’t matter though, because the other two participants are still one the world’s most advanced machinery, packing around 900hp each from their hybrid powertrains.
So, did the lighter and more powerful McLaren P1 grabbed the crown or did Porsche’s four-wheel-drive 918 teach a lesson -or two- to Woking’s finest?
