True story – when I first saw this Pontiac Trans Am ad on German classifieds site Mobile, I thought I read €3,400 in the asking price, which would have been fine, but I somehow missed three additional zeros…
Yes, this automotive equivalent of King Xerxes (Rodrigo Santoro) from Zack Snyder’s otherworldly movie “300” that you see here is listed at €3,400,000 or nearly US$3.7 million, excluding German sales tax (VAT at 19 per cent)!
There’s no denying that its creator, All Naeemi, an Iranian immigrant residing in Germany, spent boatloads of man-hours and money to build this custom Pontiac Trans Am – and good for him, but the selling price is just as surreal as the car itself.
Then again, beauty and value is in the eye of the beholder, and you never know when someone with the automotive taste buds of Ueli Anliker finds this 4th-gen Trans Am worth every penny of its asking price.
Naeemi explained that he bought the 2002 Pontiac from the USA back in 2004 for €38,000 and started modifying the muscle car only a few years later completing the glitzy golden exterior color in 2009, which won him a tuning award in Germany. He then proceeded to fully customize the Trans Am with real golden leafs, rhinestones, chrome and other elements that he painstakingly added bit by bit inside and out.
