Apparently, there’s an entire movement of creating floating cars out of existing shapes. This Swedish artist, Jacob Munkhammar, is really into Citroens, it seems, and we have absolutely no problem with that as they make the perfect candidate for this type of photo manipulation.
Jacob doesn’t only do the usual three-quarter view shot, but he mixes it up with an overhead view of a floating DS and a bus going the other way (also levitating, naturally).
He also chooses another very cool old European car and converts it – the Tatra T603, but we imagine that in hover-spec, its rear-mounted air-cooled V8 has been replaced by anti-gravity devices, or a thruster of sorts…
My favorite shot of the set is the Citroen DS dealership shot, which is really cool in concept and (with the bus shot) moves the floating car genre of digital modification forward. Oh, and the blue car is a Renault 16 and it too is unique, as the artist has extended the chrome bumpers to great effect, made them wrap around more.
