Volvo says the XC90 Excellence is the “most luxurious vehicle ever,” and it just debuted at the Shanghai motor show for all the world to see.
This is the XC90 for those who want the very pinnacle of the range with all the boxes ticked – they even removed the front seat in the quest for decadence.
Its main feature is the individual seating arrangement in the rear; it does away with the regular bench seat and in its place has two electric, heated and cooled seats that also come with a massage function.
Its emphasis is really on rear occupant comfort and easing the strain of long journeys; it has two individual entertainment screens too, along with a fridge between the seats and extendable tables too.
That’s really all you’d find in a limousine, which the XC90 Excellence tries to be; upping the ante this way, Volvo is clearly trying to take a stab at the very high end of the segment, the area populated by Range Rovers and G-wagens.
