April 15 is the day VW’s commercial vehicle division lifts the veils off the T6, the sixth-generation of the Transporter series.
Before that happens, the automaker released a new video teaser which shows us more details of the T6, including the LED headlights which look similar to those seen on the Tristar study, new alloy wheels, revised LED taillights and a very familiar profile.
Just like the new Caddy is largely a revised version of the predecessor model, it appears that the T6 is a heavily revised T5 rather than an all-new model.
No official details have been offered yet, but the T6 is expected to get VW’s latest line of diesel and petrol engines, possibly including the brand’s 237hp (240PS) 2.0-liter TDI that debuted on the new Passat.
As spy photos have shown, changes to the interior should be more significant, with the redesigned dashboard getting an integrated screen for VW’s latest infotainment system. The sixth-generation Transporter will go on sale in Europe later this year.
Stay tuned for official details and photos of the VW T6 later today.
