These are the first spy shots of Hyundai’s upcoming facelift for the Santa Fe, seen here in its shorter five-seat Sport form, though, the longer version that offers six and seven seats will also get an update.

A heavy cloak is worn on both ends of the prototype, hiding the detail of what Hyundai has altered, but it appears that the facelift won’t be extensive with the Santa Fe gaining a tweaked face and slightly different tail lamp graphics and reworked rear bumper.

Our spies were able to peek inside the prototype where the biggest change seems to be the larger infotainment screen with new controls on the center console.

We also expect some updates to the chassis and powertrains to improve their efficiency.

The spruced up Santa Fe should appear in the market within the next year.
