Hyundai has started production of the all-new H350 light commercial vehicle in Bursa (Turkey), where the model will be built for European markets by the automaker’s partner Karsan Automotive.
The Hyundai H350 is the company’s first multi-purpose light commercial vehicle (LCV). The vehicle has been designed, engineered and manufactured in Europe for sale in European markets, with Hyundai promising the H350 will “establish new standards in its class.”
The all-new Hyundai H350 is built on a flexible platform that supports three body styles – Van, Bus and Chassis-cab.
The 3.5-tonne (GVW) H350 Van will be available with a choice of 5.5-meter or 6.2-meter overall lengths, with a cargo capacity of 12.9 cubic meters, which allows it to carry five Euro-standard pallets.
With a 1,955mm high, 1,795mm wide and 3,780mm long cargo space, the H350 is capable of carrying up to 1.4 tonnes (3,086 lbs) of cargo in its load bay, while also being able to tow trailers of up to 2.5 tonnes (5,511 lbs).
The 4.0-tonne (GVW) H350 Bus offers two 13+1 seat layouts and a choice of passenger access doors, while the flexible H350 Chassis-cab provides a foundation for customized bodywork for cargo boxes up to 4.0-meter long and 2.32-meter wide.
The rear-wheel drive Hyundai H350 is offered with a 2.5-liter four-cylinder turbo diesel CRDI unit, available in two states of tune: 150PS (148hp) and 170PS (168hp). The standard engine produces 373Nm (275lb-ft) of torque, while the more powerful unit delivers 422Nm (311lb-ft) of torque. Both engines are mated to a six-speed manual transmission and meet Euro5 emissions regulations.
Sales in Turkey begin this month, Hyundai Motor, followed in June by eight other European countries. More European markets will follow in 2016.
