Granted, from the profile, the cabin sticks out like a sore thumb, but overall, there’s something very neat about Kahn Design’s Flying Huntsman 105 Defender Pickup.
It borrows the aesthetics of the Flying Huntsman concepts, including the ludicrous “6×6” six-wheeler version, displayed at the recent Geneva Motor Show, applying them on the elongated body of a Land Rover Defender 90.
Kahn adds 15 inches (381mm) to the standard 90-inch wheelbase (hence the name ‘105’) along with 15.7 inches (400mm) to the front end and 5.9 inches (150mm) to the vehicle’s width.
The tuner then overhauls the suspension and brakes, while giving the exterior new wider wheel arches and wings with vents and bolt apertures, different bumpers, a vented bonnet, new grille and tougher looking matte black 18-inch wheels among other tweaks.
The cabin also receives some attention with new sport seats, custom upholstery and trims, vented machined aluminum pedals and more.
In the UK, Kahn’s coach-built Flying Huntsman 105 Defender Pickup is priced from £58,875 + VAT, which comes to around US$93,000 or €81,500.
