NEVS is still having trouble restarting Saab, and although it did make a few cars, those neither signaled the start of production nor the promised switch to fully-electric vehicles.
Well, now, NEVS is announcing it has shacked up with two strategic partners from China, and it’s already announced plans to open a second production facility.
The plant will operate in the coastal Chinese city of Tianjin, as that’s the home of the first strategic partner, Tianjin Binhai Hi-tech industrial Development Area (THT). Second partner is the Beijing State Research Information Technology Co., Ltd. (SRIT).
The latter is a “a pioneering IT service provider owned by China’s Research Development Center of the State Council, and the telecommunications giant China Unicom.”
Lower down in the press blurb, they say “the first car that will be produced in the plant in Tianjin is an electric vehicle based on Nevs’ technology, followed by a diversified EV and portfolio of battery electric vehicles and EVs based on Nevs’ new developed vehicle architecture.”
We’ll believe it when we see it…
