Even though car vs bike isn’t what we’d call a conventional drag race, here’s a fun one for you to digest while you’re undoubtedly rooting for the Nissan. You are rooting for the Nissan, right?
Aren’t four wheels just better than two? Don’t you need a roof over your head? Don’t you want to wear comfortable clothes? As cool as the bike can be, we’re probably decades away from the industry figuring out how to somehow make it safer to ride and make it a bit more practical for everyday and all-weather use.
As for it being fast, well we always knew it was generally faster than just about any car, especially when you have something like a 200 HP Yamaha R1M.
It’s a seriously powerful motorcycle and it can have its way with any run of the mill supercar.
But what about a really quick Nissan GT-R? Not just quick but more powerful too. The GT-R in the video is apparently rated at 750 HP, which not only makes it hard to beat, but also makes it incredibly capable at getting off the line in the blink of an eye.
The “getting off the line” part is obvious really, as you see the GT-R put a decent amount of distance between itself and the Yamaha. And to be fair, over short distances and from a standing start, the bike wouldn’t stand a chance against the Nissan’s launch control system.
But since they’re doing this “race” over a..more generous distance (for the bike), the R1M claws its way back and blasts past the 750 HP supercar with relative ease.
Some might find that annoying, but know that if you put a little over 1,000 HP into that GT-R, it will probably win that drag race.
