Strike up a conversation about an iconic blast from the (recent) past and the CLK 63 Black could just come up, and you might just have to know how much of a beast it was.

Remember 2007? Before wide-body kits became really popular, before luxury European coupes started going sideways by hardly even getting on the gas..before all of that, there was the Mercedes-Benz CLK 63 AMG Black Series.

In fact, the car was so taboo, so in your face, even Jeremy Clarkson had to buy one. And we don’t blame him. It was one seriously mean machine and separated itself from the regular AMGs through its aggressive looks, updated differential and engine tune.

If you recall, the old CLK63 AMG had 481 HP coming from its monstrous 6.2 liter V8 engine, along with 630 Nm (464 lb-ft) of peak torque. What this meant was that it could go from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 4.6 seconds – and that was seriously fast back then.

Not that it’s considered slow today, but anyway. The Black Series model had 507 HP to play with and could reach the 100 km/h mark in 4.3 seconds, plus, it looked a lot cooler than pretty much anything else.

So here we have this white American-spec model, riding on a set of brushed gunmetal ADV10 Track Spec SL series custom wheels that look tremendous.

We might be forgiven for saying that white isn’t the best color for the CLK 63 AMG Black Series, but hey, very few cars are ever perfect, right?
