You don’t need to be a big BMW fan in order to know that this is one seriously innovative car company.
This spot, meant to raise awareness for the all-new 7 Series, actually also touches on BMW‘s brand philosophies. The narrator talks about creating the most powerful letter in the world – obviously referring to the letter ‘M’ – and we’ll admit, that’s a very nice way to phrase it.
Then they show the i8, which we all know is a revolutionary car, and this is something that also speaks volumes about where BMW is headed. And now we have this, the G11 7 Series luxury saloon, a car that doesn’t as much bring future technologies to us, as it creates them for our driving pleasure.
In the 7 Series though, it’s not always about driving. This is a car that’s meant to make you feel comfortable regardless of your seating position. More than that, it’s meant to make you feel like you’re riding inside an intuitive car that can adapt to your every need.
Furthermore, the latest 7 features “Remote Control Parking” (see it in action here) which allows the car to maneuver itself into and out of parking spots without having anybody behind the wheel.
Other features such as the Display Key, iDrive 5.0 system with gesture control and the Laserlight headlamps only serve to prove BMW’s point – they’re not afraid to drive the future, nor luxury for that matter.
You have to respect them, even if you’re more of an Audi or Mercedes-Benz type of person. They’ve never been afraid to challenge conventional thinking, they’ve set out to create new segments and they’ve never fallen behind in terms of new technologies.
The next-gen Audi A8 definitely has its work cut out.
