Did The BBC find a replacement for Jeremy Clarkson?

Don’t be ridiculous, nobody could replace Jezza, but BBC is thinking that somebody should take over the Top Gear host position he has left vacant.

Following the “fracas” episode, in which he punched a colleague in the face, the Top Gear presenter was dismissed from the show, but we think there isn’t a petrol-head on God’s green earth who hasn’t heard about Clarkson’s sacking.

Replacing the orangutan – as Hammond might put it – has proven to be a monumental task, since not many people are suited for the role he left behind. Furthermore, people who were somewhat rumored to take part in the series (Sue Perkins), received death threats from “fans”.

Anyway, after almost 3 months – in which no one knows what Jeremy is up to and James and Richard refused a seven figure check from the BBC to return on the show – apparently there is a lead following a possible new presenter on Top Gear.

DJ, radio host and self-proclaimed petrol-head, Chris Evans, declared – in true Top Gear fashion – that he is allegedly making a “secret Top Gear film on Tuesday”. The statement was made on Tim Lovejoy’s Channel 4 Sunday Brunch, when asked whether he had started to present Top Gear.

Evans hinted a series pilot, saying: “We’re doing a Top Gear sequence with an independent production company and we’re going to see how it goes”. This comes after Evans previously denied any speculations about hosting Top Gear. Of course, this could all be a “ruse”, made in a British fashioned humor. An “independent production company”? Nice one, Chris.

Even so, the comment drew some funny responses on Twitter, from the former Top Gear trio: Clarkson, Hammond and May :
