Pit stops in motor sports are ridiculously short nowadays and nowhere is that more obvious than in Formula 1.

The pinnacle of motor sports offers the fastest pit stops in the world, thanks to a lot of manpower (crews of 14 or more mechanics) and the fact that mid-race refueling is currently banned.

The following video offers a fascinating perspective on pit stops across various motor sports, including Formula 1, IndyCar, Formula E, NASCAR and the FIA World Endurance Championship (LMP 1, LMP 1 and GTE PRO classes).

You can clearly see differences in budget, as Formula 1 teams have 14 mechanics or more working during a pit stop, while IndyCar and NASCAR have crews consisting of 6 people, one of which also has to refuel the car.

However, the most unusual pit stop you’ll see is from Formula E, where a driver simply switches from one car for another that has fresh tyres and fully-charged batteries.
