Jaguar updates their flagship, the XJ for the MY2016 by making small design changes on the outside and upgrading the tech on the inside.

This means that the new Jaguar XJ now has a pair of new, full LED headlights and revised rear LED lights so you can spot it more easily while the cabin now benefits from the InControl Touch Pro Infotainment System which offers seamless connectivity to both iOS and Android devices and door-to-door navigation.

The 12.3-inch digital display instrument cluster can now be configured to show the navigation system in full-screen while the new infotainment system uses a quad-core Inter processor and a 60BG solid state drive.

Jaguar has equipped the new XJ with an electric power steering (EPAS) which according to them, helps to reduce fuel consumption up to three per cent on the European combined cycle as it only uses energy when the driver turns the wheel.

The 3.0-litre V6 diesel engine has been upgraded from 275PS-271hp/600Nm-442lb ft to 300PS-296hp/700Nm-516lb ft which allows the XJ to accelerate from 0-60mph in 5.9 seconds, returning at the same time 149g/km of CO2 emissions.

The new line-up is joined by the Autobiography model which is only available as a long-wheelbase model. The top-of-the-line XJ will feature chrome front bumper air intakes and 20in alloy wheels with the cabin upholstered with quilted leather and equipped with individual rear seats among others.

Also new is the R-Sport model which is recognised by the more dynamic bodywork which includes a small rear spoiler with the cabin gaining sports seats and piano black trim.

The range of available engines are: the 240PS-236hp 2.0-litre petrol RWD, 340PS-335hp 3.0-litre V6 petrol RWD and AWD, 470-510-550PS (463-503-542hp) 5.0-Litre V8 petrol RWD and the 300PS-296hp 3.0-litre V6 diesel RWD.
