Even though Chris Evans isn’t confirming that he’ll take over Top Gear, he can still have a bit of fun at the Stig’s expense. Or in this case, ‘The Stink’.
It turns out that “The Stink” is none other than Jason Plato, who showed up on Evans’ show TFI Friday in order to take the LaFerrari out on the track and see just how fast it is.
Oh, and if you’re wondering if that’s Lewis Hamilton with them in the studio, it’s probably because it really is Lewis Hamilton – fresh off his Gumball 3000 experience!
This LaFerrari actually belongs to Evans and so he was probably more than happy to let Plato try to make it the fastest car to ever lap the TG track – a record held by the Pagani Huayra at 1m 13.8 seconds.
Plato does warn the audience that the track was damp, which led to Lewis sounding a bit pessimistic about the outcome.
In the end (and with just 15 min worth of track time) Jason Plato did a 1m 14.2 seconds in the LaFerrari. That’s good enough to destroy pretty much everything else that did a Power Lap over there, except for the Pagani Huayra.
However, that was a totally dry lap, unlike this one.
